Try Getting This Lot In A Saloon!

Post by steve_earwig »

I've just taken the girls down to have their quarterly ear & anal gland inspection (or "anal secks" as the lady vet pronounces it  ). They are almost totally undisciplined and go completely nuts, running round me so the leads wrap round my legs, trying to run off in different directions... I had to wait about 10 minutes so shut the dogs with me into one of the waiting rooms, then all 3 were trying to get on my lap at the same time. The funny thing is, they love getting in the car, even though we only ever go to the vet's in it, where they are terrified

Btw sorry about the state of the car, the roads round here are a mass of mud

Easy, two on the back seats, one on the front seat :cheesy: oh, and if they get in your way, use the "Sit!" command. Or do your dogs speak Croatian?

In a Coupe, though ... not so easy. Uhhhh... roofbox?

In a saloon the difference is that they will be forced to behave, or else scratch the shite out of everything and burst out through the ski hole. I have just bought a blakent for the back of the car covering the rear seat and footwell because my dog ducks for the footwell when it gets exciting, but to keep the doggy smell out means the windows need opened.
Would this lot fit in the volvo v50?

I should have kept my mouth shut  Guess what it's doing now. Together with a thunderstorm (I didn't think that happened :? ) and, judging by the way the lights keep flickering and my UPS keeps beeping, we're in for an interesting afternoon.

It's stopped now, we only got about 10cm. I've just been out clearing it and they were still hammering past at about 40mph  That would be speeding here on a good day, it's a tiny village and the speed limit is 25mph. And I had to dodge getting sprayed with slush

Our three cavaliers love getting in the car, which they associate with out of town, broken glass & discarded needle free, walkies. Having said that, they love going to the vets too, (where the elder one gets his rear end reamed out in similar fashion to yours all too often). He enjoys going and loves all the vets - (in his book ALL attention is good). Cracks us up watching him try to keep his butt pointed away from anyone in green and glued firmly to the floor.....

I couldn't do without the estate as ours are unmanageable in a group as well. Individually, they're reasonably well trained / behaved, but once they're together and excited, forget it. Even worse when my daughter's home as hers makes four.

I'm never, ever going to have more than two again.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
