No fluid

Post by mattyg »

Hi all new to the forum and just been given a 97 406 1.9. I wemt to collect the car last night and the brake pedal went to the floor and there is no fluid in the resevoir. The car has not been used for a few months and there was no previous problem. It was dark last night and the car is still surrounded by over a foot of snow so it wasnt easy to look underneath. My question is are there any common faults with the braking system ie master cylinder failure on these cars.

Thanks in advance matt

Hi there, welcome :cheesy:

There's no common faults with the hydraulics on these, it'll be rear drums so it's probably a wheel cylinder that's let go (like they do)
