If your ever planning on getting rid of this car, can I please have first refusal?
Have we had enough of the Focus already then?
Nahh lovelly car, few issues. Steering shake is the main one. The other is the fact it's overfualing but a tank full of VPower and a lead right foot seems to have sorted that out.
It just dosen't have the charecter of a big old XUD'd 406 It's abit plain and boring to be honest.

You know, that's the trouble with Fords - they're good to drive, reliable and cheap to mend but they're a bit dull and not really special enough to fall in love with. They're just kinda 'ordinary'
I drove my Mum's KA last week (it's an 05 plater with sub-30K miles) but it felt like it's done 90K miles it's a top of the range one too with levvers and everyfink. In comparison we all know on here that a decent 406 will take high mileage in its stride.

I wouldn't think twice about jumping into the Focus and doing 500miles, where the 406 i'd be checking every nut and bolt before hand.
Every time the 406 mate a knock or twitched a little on the motorway I would sh*t myself, in the Focus I don't get the little adrenaline "I'm going to die moments".
But these little niggled with the 406 always made it a 406!

about them alloys would they work on my d9? I would like to say they look CLASS.
Fitment wise, yeah they'd go straight on with the spacers and longer bolts that I've used. I've always loved these alloys (since I was about 15 or so and started reading Max Power) so when a set came up cheap I jumped at the chance. Sanded the faces back to get rid of the diamond polished effect and damage, but it's meant that they've turned out with a satin finish and personally I think they look good. But obviously everyone has their own preferences. If money was no option, then a set of proper split rim 18" or 19" BBS style rims I think would fit the bill perfectly. Shame they'd be worth more than the car though.
If I do sell it, Bailes, then I'll advertise it on here first.
Pics of exhaust fitted properly and clear rear lights. Will be getting another set of lights and doing the crystal mod soon though.
A pic of the rear blinds. I liberated these from a local scrappy from another 406, but I don't know if they're universal fitment or 406 specific. Either way, with the fact that they just retract when you unhook them from the top of the window, they're definately worthwhile especially with the little one.
That one sags a bit, the other one fits much better, and it's also the angle that I've taken the pic from that makes it look worse than it is. Can't beat a good scrap yard find!
I like the idea of rear sunblinds, i seen them first when i was being chauffeured in the back of a lexus LS (no i missed the bus and the neighbour left me to school) but are these really out of a 406, and were they an option even on top of the exec spec?
3 screws in each blind unit screw them to the top of the door cards. The rear lights are dead easy. Just smash all the coloured bit off which leaves the clear bit. Silicon around the outside between the clear bit and the light unit itself and job jobbed. I've got no leaks from mine, but still I fancy doing the crystal conversion instead as I prefer the colour on the back end. Don't get me wrong, it does look good with the clear rears, but I prefer a slightly more subtle look.
