As a practical joke i shoveled snow into the loadbay of my uncles hilux, then my cousin came along and there was a rather large snowman on the back. He fell off as soon as it drove off.
It's back! there was a slight whiff of nice morning mist today on the way to work and yep; just about every other car I saw had the front fogs on
Now I consider I'm reasonably intelligent but what's wrong with these people? is it simply a case of "it's foggy, switch those lights on, right.... that's that taken care of" ?? it's almost as if they're not thinking or applying and common sense to it, you know, it's foggy so I've 'done my bit' kinda thing
Give me strength

I've never used mine, reason?
Good few years ago on holiday in Skegness my nans other half was pulling out of the car park on the sea front at about 9pm and to him it was quite foggy (sea fret) so he put his fogs on but on his way out a copper flagged him down and told him there was no need for them and if he didn't turn them off he could get booked.
For what i have no idea but the threat was there.

Maybe after that big pile-up in Kent people are being over-cautious. I guess I can cope with people turning their fog lights on at the merest wisp of mist (even if it's illegal) but what really used to piss me off in the UK was them leaving them on for weeks afterwards. Or just turning them on in order to look "cool"*
*like a twat.
Driving here it's not foglights that are an issue, when it's dark I'm glad enough when people remember to turn any lights at all on. Or the over-powered headlight bulb brigade, I had one retard threatening to drive into the yoyo's boot the other night, their lights were so bright even dipping the mirror wasn't enough and I had to tip it to face the floor. Apparently now the police here have the power to stop them, confiscate their numberplates and force them to go through something akin to type approval before they get them back. That is, if the police aren't too drunk to find their way out of the bar first.
And will people turn their bloody headlights off in the daytime.
Couple of weeks ago the twat behind me (X-type) had his auto lights flashing me and they were on main beam. I stopped, got out, and told him to turn them off.
I was driving down some country roads this morning and couldn't see 10ft in front of me so had to put my front and rear fogs on. It's nice to know people can see you from behind!
My only gripe is my car will only let you put the fogs on if the dipped headlights are on. Which seems pointless to me as the dropped headlights were causing visibility issues.

I have the opposite problem here. It was quite foggy up on Cheddar Gorge here (I mean, I couldn't see 2 metres in front of me) and some people, including a police car, didn't even have their normal lights on, let alone fog lights. Some people only took half a brain with them that morning and had their side-lights on, so I still couldn't see them coming towards me until they were really quite close.
We concluded before that front fogs are only useful in severe conditions and WITHOUT the headlights on; thus cutting under the fog to illuminate the road (your speed will be reduced to a crawl).
This morning was dark and foggy-ish so headlights were required, I tried the front fogs out of curiosity and all I got was more foreground lighting.....I could feel my eyes 'relax' when I turned them off and my distance vision improved so front fogs are useless for the most part as we need distance vision for greater safety.
