The Best and Worst - Wipers

Post by FarmerPug »

I have a pair of aero wipers, the HID conversion of the wiper world, and like HID conversions they arent good. Well they were initially good like all new wipers, but they have worn out and dont wipe the bit of the windscreen i use for looking at the road. So whats the best brand of wipers to get, will conventionals be the ones to go for, and is halfords the best vendor of such automotive merchandise.

On the topic of the best wiper system, mercedes benz w124 used a cam system to raise the single wiper into an almost square shape getting more of the windscreen than double wipers do.

I gotta say I bought a pair of them Valeo flat ones and they were good. Since then I've bought a couple of pairs of the ebay cheap flatties and yes, they wear out quicker, but they cost less than a quarter of the price and they don't wear out four times quicker! I reckon the ebay ones are better value, they're just as good as the valeo ones when new and if you keep 'em clean they'll last a year no probs. :D

Nothing, but mine always used to judder / squeak and lift at speed, the aero ones don't do any of that (and they aren't as intrusive in your view :supafrisk: ). If you want to go back to originals try to get Bosch ones, they seem about the best.

Bought some flat/aero wipers in Belgium, and they are superb, I found the Bosch normal ones left patches no matter how much I bent and twisted them to wipe flat, also used flat/aero wipers always on my old Pajero for over 4 years, and never had problems. Think I'll stick with the aeros :)
