Front brake pad wear

Post by FarmerPug »

This light as of today illuminates when i press on the brakes:

(very faint below the 6)
Its not fully illuminated to the brightness of a proper warning light, but still visible, the manual points to front pads but they were replaced for brand new ones back in the summer. So whats the problem here, anything to do with the abs fault i got in the really cold weather for about 10 seconds. Can pads wear out that quick

"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

whats autodata, is that my new pp2000 toy, any chance this weather could be affecting it, and a good clean is what it needs, or fluid because the pedal felt a bit harder, and less effective than normal, and ive got no screaming from the brakes.

oh is this like the haynes manual on a cd except more content?
i really havent got the hang of the pp2000 yet, but without even using that what could be the issue.

wayyyy more content, shows everything a mechanic would need like timing belt info, aux belt routing , diagnostic codes and what they mean, service shedules, and loads more.

if u have bit torrent id be happy to point u to a place that has it.

The first thing I would do is to have a look at the pads to be sure there is nothing saftey critical going on. The warning system relies on two wires burried in the pads completing a circuit with the brake disc as they wear away. Could be a wiring fault, but i seem to remember mine coming on faintly when the pads were wearing. What make did you use?
