after a while when the currently elected government gets a bit of money off us to buy bird houses will the vat return back down to 17.5, and is car tax going to go up, and will the bloody oil ever go down or will there ever be a good deal like buy one litre get one free, or 3 litres for the price of 2.

At least its not as bad as the USA where you have to add half a dozen different state taxes then a bloody tip. And no, I will bloody well not have a nice day.

I definitely prefer Europe to America -- the booze is better for a start.
I think that to have a good time in America you have to be prepared to spend a lot of money and also to be a demanding customer and get what you want in return. I am comfortable with neither of these.

In November 2003 I went to Virginia with my mate, who was finishing up divorcing his American nutbag of a wife. We then hired a Ford Escape (I had that airborne!!
) , bought camping gear from Walmart, drove down to New Orleans, damped for a week, got plenty drunk, drove back, handed back the (now damaged ) Ford and took the camping gear back (stupid "no questions asked" returns policy 
). Amazing time had by all and driving "interstate" in the US requires no thought whatsoever - just keep driving and what you want will come to you.

i want to go over to france and get myself a nice rust free 305, drive it home, and get a nice rusty 305 over here in the uk and make the rust free one suitable for use on the correct side of the road.

i never noticed when it went down... probably wont notice when it goes up apart from fuel...
didnt BP release record profits last year of sommin silly like £35BILLION!?!? in the next breath i also think they admitted to being able to find the oil, dig it out of the ground, refine the funk out of it AND deliver it to the pumps at around 33p a litre... the rest is Excise and VAT. the really sad fact is that diesel is actually EASIER to refine than petrol yet its 10-15p more expensive per litre at the pumps. if we did a little more like the surrender monkeys do and block off refineries things MIGHT change but large haulage companies buy in bulk so get a cheaper price 80-90p and then put a surcharge on to the customer so actually after all pockets are well and truely lined its the man who works his arse off to pay a mortgage and doesnt claim on the dole and stays together with his wife and kid(s) which may i remind you is what the government is all about, that has to pick up the tab for every other lazy leech on society and is not rewarded in anyway for his efforts...
solution:- go on the dole claim for everything u can tell them youve divorced but still live in the same house as your mrs and let her claim for the kids and single parent and every other hand out that our 'well structured' benefits system has to offer!
