What Oil
What oil do people use in theyre HDI's i always used 10/40 but i read it needs 5/40 is this correct
Re: What Oil
Most people use 10w40.
I used 10w40 in a fleet of 30 HDi I used to look after and I use 10w40 in my own HDi.
There are alternatives, if you want to use 5w40 that's up to you.
If your HDi has a particulate filter (FAP system), then you should be using an oil that is particulate filter friendly....look in the knowledge base for a link.

Re: What Oil
There is a 2.0 110 FAP listed in Service Box but we've yet to stumble across one on here.

Re: What Oil
I think they're now standard on all diesels to keep the emissions within the current stupid European bum hole regulations.

Re: What Oil
Nothing wrong with 5w40, nothing wrong with 10w40.
The particulate filter friendly oil is 5w30 which I use in my 407 HDi.
