My D9 hdi estate is on 155,600 miles and if the tocho didnt work you wouldnt guess the milage was anything like as high, purley by the way the car feels when you drive it (when you've got a Ford with 100 k + on the clock, you know it!). When the really cold spell came I had to give it 3 lots of heat before it would start but that was at minus 10 degrees.

I think this car is good for another 150,000 easy

Amazing car love it

300k isn't as unusual on a 2litre diesel as you might think. Also,I dont know why some people are put off by getting a diesel that was a taxi, say, for 150k.I'd say there would be more probably wrong wi the rest of the car, than the engine

Facelift 406 GLX 2.0 110 HDI - just a shade under 171,000 miles. Got a few problems but nothing I can't handle. Owned by my dad from 1 year old, having done 8,000 miles or so and sold to me three years ago on 124,000.

i even seen it clicking over to 100,000 finally the last segment after displaying 0 for 8 years of its life basically being redundant now has a purpose and it will probably show 1 for the next 8.

As of last week my 2.1TD has covered 187k :) Still going well and pulls along very nicely, can't grumble with that at all.

you know i was driving my wifes ford focus 1.8 turbo diesel earlier and i thought to myself this car feels like it has done more than mine !it has only got 84'000 on the clock and it doesnt drive as nice as my 406,the focus is getting harder to start in the cold and is blowing out black smoke when you start it and you can smell the unburnt diesel in the air too,This ford it a pile of proverbial compared to my 406 and i have to get rid of one of them soon as i have a master van too and not enough room for all 3 vehicles as well as my 26 motorbikes lol.so i said to the mrs we need to sell your car and she says no i like mine more its smaller and a bit faster than your 406...im thinking that focus will be tin cans long before my 406 ever see's a scrappy the focus is also rusting up all over the doors and 2 have been changed under warranty already and it on a w the same as my 406.so looks like we are keeping all three 4 wheelers then i love my 406 too much.and its much more comfy than the focus
