Time to stop spamming the 406 is going

Post by pug406gtx »

Well I guess it is time to stop spamming other topics and let you all know as of Sunday 13/8/06 I will no longer be a fellow 406 owner, I will make sure the new owner of the car registers to the site I will put it in the ownership rights to the car lol.

Dont all cry at once

Just feel it is time for a change, had the car 3 and a half years now done a lot of work to it and think somebody else should benifit from it now.

Will be upset to see it go but id rather see it go to a good home while it is still in its prime 8)

I wonder if you've been offered something with a Turbo charger and could not resist?

Woo hoo I knew it!

Make sure you run it on Optimax though being an import, if you run it on normal Unleaded No. 3 cylinder will run too hot (i'm sure you know that anyway).

I looked into Impreza's a while back cos I really wanted one.

Which version is it? In Japan Subaru did there own WRX and STi did one with Forged Pistons, some head work, a higher rev limit, aluminium suspension parts etc.

It is just the wrx pushing out about 270bhp just now.

it will always be run on optimax even managed to get reasonable insurance quotes so all should be well.

don't get me wrong i will be sad to see the pug go but i will make sure he registers here so i check how it is doing lol 8)

280 BHP actually, 240BHP for UK only cars

As a point of interest, although I'm sure you'll be very happy with 280BHP, don't be tempted to increase the boost on the Subaru without some serious consideration to the safety of the engine.

About 300 bhp is the absolute limit without going into bigger injectors, FMIC, ECU, forged internals etc etc etc....

Grahame Goodes in Leicester will take your UK 240bhp upto the Import 280bhp and that takes an exhaust, induction kit, and a boost increase but you must then run on Optimax, just shows you how near the limit they get even as standard so be carefull with mods (if you plan any).

The engine, although very tough in standard form can suffer with heat and even detonation if poorly modified, because of the boxer style pistons the rear ones (especially No.3 as that is the last to be lubricated) can overheat so most modders look at better fueling and reducing charge temps as a safety measure.

I hope you enjoy it though, and let us have some piccies please.
