on board computer

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

the climate control staying on is a bit BSI ish, which is a sort of brain that deals with all the stuff inside the car, but you can do a BSI reset on the BAA website;

give that a go, always a good start.

It sounds like something's playing silly sods with the VAN bus, which is a computer network connecting everything in the car. First, do a search on here for the BSI reset procedure.

If it's an aftermarket stereo and/or there's a phone kit installed, try removing them.
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
