Re: Black lower trim
i had to change a fuse on a 2 yr old citroen dispatch yesterday, broke the clip holding it in, firstly it wouldnt loosen, i exerted more pressure and it snapped.

Whats so hard about it?Gary406 wrote:FarmerPug wrote:you could do a d9 front end transplant if theres enough parts to hand.allready looked into that few months ago , its a huge job that i would rather not do
the 406s are all bolt on panels etc arnt they,?
or did they start welding stuff on on the 406s,?
irember the old 405s where all bolt on panels used to be able to take the front end of one of them in 10 mins,
Maybe its all changed,

Re: Black lower trim
the 405 facelift wasnt very big on the outside, it was mostly a rehaul of the dashboard, series 2 405 dashs were much better especially the radio cover.
Re: Black lower trim
so what wouid be the hard work,
as a guess all ican see if,
change,
Slam panel,
bumper
grille
lights,
bonnet,
if its all bolt off idont see it as a big "Mission"
but if any of its weld on that be a bit of a hastle,

Re: Black lower trim
any welding or cutting would be a hassle.

Maybe its all changed,
but the D8 would need modifying to be able to bolt a D9 bumper on
as well as slam panel, wings, bonnet bumper
i looked into it last year and it is not a small job, its a bloody big nightmare so i was told
i wasnt gonna do it was just finding out info at the time to see what was involved and for my own knowledge of the 406 range

Re: Black lower trim
yep it wasnt just the glovebox door either
it was the full section with the back bit of it
also got all the section that goes under the steering wheel , altho i havnt changed that bit as the ashwood bit on the drivers side just clips out
its also a bit different on the D9
i was gonna buy the roof lining , thought it may have been black, but it was grey
a grey roof lining with a black interior
now i dont think mine looks odd after all
