Re: type d8 or d9
There have been a number of debates on these forums about the build quality of D8 vs D9.
I know that my two D9s have both been very well built, with only minor niggles on each. The passenger-side electric window failed on the saloon, never did get that fixed. On the Coupe, the fuel filler cap warning light comes on every time I start the engine - irritating, but not life-threatening.

Re: type d8 or d9
There definitely is, try owning both at the same time.
I'd have said the 2.1 is the best derv lump, the HDi has too many "issues" for me. A 2.1td with a D9 front on it in estate form, perfik.

Re: type d8 or d9
but all the hdis issues have at some point been solved on this place, and theres always a possibility of remapping a hdi. But on the interior quality is there anything in it, they both have the same interiors just a different mfd, and d9s mostly have climate control, perhaps the com2000 is what lets the side down.

The interiors are different between D8 and D9.

Re: type d8 or d9
the d9 interior has a hazzard light button in place of the d8s clock and this is because the d9s bigger dot matrix display incorporates a clock into it where the d8 mfd could not. The climate control in the d8 is slightly different from a d9, and on cars equipped with manual controls i think theres a difference but ive never been in such a car, The design of the doorcards on the two is different but interchangeable. The dials in d9s are different in that they are all circular. And i think thats the main differences covered

you sure ? thats the only reason i bought my xud, love the sound of the old diesel engines lolFarmerPug wrote:i cant hear the engine because of the music, i suppose if i was doing the video with my car id put music on because really a diesel isnt an engine you want to listen to, it might be torquey and it might be economical but it doesnt have the right sound. That road really looks like a good road for driving. Plenty of bends, but yet still wide enough so you dont need to care about cars on the other side which is the problem with the roads here in ni, all too narrow or potholed, any that are not are called motorways, apart from the odd exception here and there.

Nope yours is the worst of both worlds. D9 looks better, but HDi is too complex, 1.9TD is far better.Floodys wrote:So I've got the best of both worlds! The better derv engine and the (dare I say it) better built D8..... All for £380!!!
Best of both worlds would be a D9 body with D8 1.9TD engine.

Re: type d8 or d9
I'll come out and say it.
I prefer the front of the D9. I regard it as one of Peugeot's best front end designs. It harks back to 505s and 305s, looks aggressive but classy at the same time.
