"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

check all the fuses. But a tempoary solution to the flashing is probably disconnect the power.

Re: DOORS LOCKING AND HAZARDS KEEP FLASHING
i had an 1998 ford escort mark 5 that did that,
and when it rained the car use to start spluttering and missfiring when i was driving,
when its raining look under the bonnet and check for any water getting on wires ??
also are both inner wheel arch linings in place ? on the front ?
if one of the wheel sh*t covers is missing that could flick water up onto wires (well it did on my escort)

Where is the internal Alarm sensors on the 406s ?
or are they just trigerd off a door switch ?

Another thing ive found on somecars that Get the Poltergeist alarm syndrome is if your Voltage drops on Acar battery- it can Fire off the Alarm,
And in winter time Frost -Eats Batterys so it may be Worth getting a test done on the battery ,

Re: DOORS LOCKING AND HAZARDS KEEP FLASHING
my car has a genuine pug alarm fitted , have the receipt from peugeot from back when the car was new
mine has ultrasonics on the front pillows at the top near headlining
i dont like ultrasonics they cause false alarms with the slightest seatbelt movement in the car
my pug alarm was always false arming
thats why i fitted my own alarm last week which connects to the interior lights to activate it

Idont like Cars that Have the Alarms - wired in with the indicators,
Iwire up mine with Extra Leds which are inside, the car,
Ihad acar Took with a Top notch Alarm on it they overriden the Alarm with just a bit of Tin-foil,
they left me an Indicator lens

Re: DOORS LOCKING AND HAZARDS KEEP FLASHING
the 406 headlight is one unit so that would be a little tricky
plus ,,,,,,,, my new alarm works with the indicators and i know for sure they wont get to the wire because they are wired upto the back of the hazard light switch on the dashboard

Re: DOORS LOCKING AND HAZARDS KEEP FLASHING
must be one of the microswitches in the door is forozen in the open position hence why the car thinks a door is open. I had the same problem with the switch closed so the door lights did not come on.
