iritating relay

Hi all got my freebie 406 through the mot with no probs just noticed theres a relkay clicking frantically around the steering column it does periodically has anyone had this problem before and does anyone know what the relay controls thanks matt.

i`ve had that myself then it went away and not returned as yet so i would like to know what it could be myself .
thought it could be to do with indicators but they are working ok .

remove the indicator stalk, clean the contacts and put it back in, from my experience a repair that lasts for a couple of years. Or replacement if you don't want to do it again.

Had the same on my D8. Seemed to do it more when it raining for some reason. Never got around to looking at it.

Been some developments on this. First time i drove the car properly i indicated onto the motorway and this was followed by a lot of smoke and a strong burning smell. The switch didnt work at all after. Just a word of warning if you have these symptoms change the switch unless your fond of fires as it didnt blow any fuses. Changed the switch now for a new one and everything is fine

the com2000 may have enough flaws but it didnt go on fire.
