Philips H7 bulbs
Following a read on the other old post i get a sense the H7 bulbs are as good as bulbs get before going to HIDs. Is there any difference in the 80% ones and the 100% ones, is that just a bit of marketing bullshite or does the 100% ones really have double the strength of standard bulbs.

Re: Philips H7 bulbs
It depends on what your definition of "standard" bulbs are
The Osram NightBreaker Plus bulbs I just fitted to the Coupe are definitely brighter - though I wouldn't say 90% brighter.
I have also just ordered some white 360-degree LED sidelight bulbs, hopefully they won't be as much of a complete PITA to install...

Re: Philips H7 bulbs
No idea actually. I bought mine from Amazon - they were more expensive than those on eBay, but I had an Amazon voucher with some credit left on it, so I thought lets give this a go.
EDIT: These are the ones I bought
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004 ... ss_product
What's the projector bit about then? Have I bought the wrong sidelight bulbs?

Re: Philips H7 bulbs
You do know that 'H7' is just the style of bulb? i.e. 2 x spade connectors and a 3-pointed fitment shape.
The old H4 has a built-in high beam.
Then there's 9003's which are angled etc.....
H7 is the most common and the current best bulbs are any with a proven +80%, +90% etc like Philips Extreme Power and (the new) Osram Nightbreakers. Don't get a 'blue look' bulb they are crap and give out LESS light

Re: Philips H7 bulbs
but what one of these 2 should i get:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 320wt_1141
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 185wt_1141
is there a big enough difference in the 100% to justify the extra cost?

All HIDS are illegal going by the strict letter of the law. But stick to 4100k or 6000k which are OEM then you should be ok.

Re: Philips H7 bulbs
i dont want to put hids in, too much work in my opinion and causes too much glare for other motorists. So either one of the philips extremes will be an improvement then, what about the sidelights
