Symbol in dashboard

Post by FBO578 »

Hi to all,

About a month ago I purchased a 1999 406 HDI and today a light is flashing on my dashboard. It is in the upper right hand corner next to the fog lamp symbol and it is like a tank with lines underneath it. It is not flashing all the time but especially when the vehicle is inclined backwards.

Can anyone tell me what it is indicating?

Thanks

Hi there, I reckon it's this one which my handbook says is "Spia livello minimo liquido de raffreddamento" (bluddy Italian import  ) which Babelfish says means "Spy level minimal liquid of cooling". Your cooling system says it needs topping up.

Welcome in mate! :)
If your coolant level is low check for leaks around the bottom hose area and the thermostat housing. You'll know by the antifreeze residue left behind.

Should be for the most part, with the sole obvious exception of the stalk controls; 2002 onwards would have COM2000, whereas this chap's '99 model won't.
