406 coupe wheels to 306

Post by Flynn »

Hi, I've gotten some 406 coupe wheels for my 306, the seating is flat on the coupe wheels, same as my original wheels but the bolt heads are not flat. Will my standard wheel bolts be okay to put them on with? I don't want to risk losing any of them falling off you see!

Hi, yes, I will provide pictures but I'm gonna repaint them first. My original wheels were alloys so I already have alloy wheel bolts but will they be the right ones?

Before you do, which coupe wheels have you got? The 2 types (Starfish & Hoggar) use different bolt types. The Hoggars need a small taper halfway down the bolt.

I was refurbishing one of them the other day and it just occured to me how bloody wide the damn thing was. It is 8 inches wide, it originally came with 205 section tyres on there, but I need to get 195s on there to fit. Being 15 inch I thought 195 sections would fit fine but they do seem to be abnormally wide for some reason.
