SIDELIGHT BULBS
Hi everyone
I've just bought a set of led sidelight bulbs. Just had a quick look under the bonnet and these don't seem to be as easy to change as the headlight bulbs? Anyone had to change this. The haynes manual says there is a clip that you depress? I cant see it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Marco

Re: SIDELIGHT BULBS
You take off the rear black plastic covers, then inside there's a long grey plastic holder with an L-Shaped end.......you twist this a quarter turn and the side light capsule is on the end of it (like a long pencil).
Tip: when offering the new bulb back in look through the headlight glass from the front to help guide you in

Re: SIDELIGHT BULBS
Thanks for your help. Figured it out quite quickly. The upgrade bulbs don't fit anyway so back to the car shop today to see if they do any others. The part of the bulb that slots into the bulb holder seems to long to fit. The width is exactly the same. Theres no way it will fit and i don't want to force the sidelight bulb in and damge the bulbholder.
Thanks

Re: SIDELIGHT BULBS
the normal 501 bulbs (glass type) fit fine but the led type with the plastic base doesn't even though its supposed to be a 501 direct replacement .
I'm going to have a bit more of a look this afternoon didn't have much time to look yesterday.
Thanks

Re: SIDELIGHT BULBS
I've fitted them them now i see what you mean about them being a tight fit! Looks better than the normal bulbs these ones are a bright white.
Thinking about getting some of these Osram nightbreaker headlight bulbs they seem to get a good write up. Live in the middle of nowhere so a good set of lights helps. Had the phillips extremepower bulbs they were pretty good but only lasted about a year quite dear as well £23 for a set of bulbs.
Thanks

Re: SIDELIGHT BULBS
The Osram NightBreaker Plus bulbs are good; definitely brighter than normal. Not as bright as HIDs, but these bulbs are legal and will pass MOTs.
Fit two pairs of the Osram bulbs (to replace your dipped and main beam bulbs).
I'm going to pick up my LED sidelight bulbs from the post office tomorrow morning, and will try to fit them if it isn't raining.

Re: SIDELIGHT BULBS
i never spend more than £15 on a full set of bulbs
if you search ebay you can get a full set of bulbs that are xenon look
i have them and they are brilliant, i got for £12 4x H7 bulbs for main and dipped , 2x H1 for fogs
and 2x 501 bulbs
they are certainly better than standard by far
