W reg 2000 110 HDI GTX
The auto-dimming mirror has never auto-dimmed since I've owned it - about 2 years. The green light comes on. Are there any know faults, tips, tests that might help me get it working ? Thanks This website helped me once before when I had the beeping handbrake problem.

there have never been any topics about this (as far as i can remember)
there must be a fuse in the fusebox that is linked to the mirror
maybe have a look for it and check

Doesn't the light being on imply that the fuse is ok?
There's no common faults that I know of, perhaps you could try shining a torch in it to see if it dims. Try cleaning the light detector (next to the button) with some alcohol or similar, if nothing happens it's probably defunct.

the dimming takes a few seconds i find. park a car behind you put its lights on and compare the results with the mirror on and off.
