Welcome to the "black stripe"

At these temps .5L to 20L of oil is fine, below 0c make it 1L. Any other time of the year 0% petrol is best ;)

tbh, as long as it's above 0c i don't bother with petrol myself, but then i have to put up with the engine hunting like mad for the first 5 minutes. Only once the oil needs two runs of the heater plugs do i add some petrol. The rest of the year i'm on pure oil.

Yes, i'm so tight i squeak when i walk :D

Still hunts a little bit (my car has always had a slight hunting problem, think my needle lift injector thingy is giving the wrong signal, meaning my advance is slightly off when the engine is cold), but nothing bad enough to worry me.

Been first fire of the heaters until a few days ago actually, think my duraterm plugs are on the way out, fitted them over 2 years ago so i can't complain!

ye mate im gonna do what you said and put 0.5 litre in 20 litres of oil ....

so does your car run normal ? once warm ?

it feels really weird going onto veg oil , worried more than anything if something goes wrong once its pure oil in the tank

Car runs absolutely fine.

I'd feel dirty going onto a forecourt and paying assrape.9p/L for fossil fuel. :D

As for breakdowns, i've had a grand total of ZERO in all the years i've run veg, on several different vehicles.

Ignore the hysterical types who will pounce on the slightest problem with the car. Veg oil only shows up problems that were already there, it doesn't make new ones.

About time you joined the greener side. Get it on Waste Veg Oil for even more saving.

As said in PM, 5% Petrol should be fine in this weather, thats all I'm using now.

Keep a spare fuel filter and tools in car just incase it blocks quickly with it being new to veg oil.

well i m now officially on SVO with 2.5% petrol
must admit im really shocked with it .
my tank was bone dry from diesel, the low warning light has been on for 2 days now :supafrisk:

i put 20 litres of veggie oil in and it took it between half tank and quater i'm shocked £20 gets it to there its brilliant

the only down side to veggie oil is the frickin smell it really does stick rotten like a chip shop in a morning :P

and when your driving down the road the heaters also make your car smell like a chippy
i think i need to invest in sum magic tree's
