Re: I'm Now On Veg Oil
Any of you guys know how to set yourself up as a legitimate, licensed waste-oil-disposer-of, i.e. able to give producers documentary evidence of correct disposal?
(I have a relative with a mostly veg-powered 1.9TD estate, in case you're wondering).

Re: I'm Now On Veg Oil
No need to be licensed if you're collecting it for own use. Some restaurants want/need a waste transfer notice to keep them legal, just give them 1.

Diesel, but it takes 4 times more to do same job as Petrol.
Also Acetone (nail varnish remover) think 20ml Acetone to 20 ltr Oil. I've never used it tho.

when the engine is hunting on cold start this means the oil is going into the cylinders to thick ....
can this not damage the engine internally ???????
might be a silly question but im just trying to get all the info since im new to the veg oil fuel thing ...

Most Diesels, if you look in the Manual, it often says add upto 15% Petrol in winter.Gary406 wrote:wont petrol in a diesel engine nacker the seals up or something like that or is it safe ?
So perfectly fine to add Petrol.
Would only cause damage if your engine is already damaged. Gummed Rings is possible, but not heard of it ever happening on a 1.9TD before.Gary406 wrote:when the engine is hunting on cold start this means the oil is going into the cylinders to thick ....

Gummed Rings can be cured by squrting a fine mist of water into your air intake, this steam cleans the inside of your engine.

Hunting just means engine is cold, oil is prob perfectly fine.

Early morning starts, when engine is cold is only time it could/would cause damage.Gary406 wrote:if the veg oil was to do some damage when would it most likely do so ?
I hear some people say dont leave it to idle, start and drive off get it upto temp quicker by driving.

Re: I'm Now On Veg Oil
I normally start and drive off, but over winter I started it, left it on idle while I cleared snow off my drive.
