I've been involved with Nissan servicing and repairs since 1974 and I've never had a faulty cat on a Micra, nor changed a Lambda sensor.
The throttle bodies are easy fixed by soldering up dry joints inside.
I have a Y reg Micra that my son runs.
The later Micra/Clio has some potential serious problems though....I have one to service and mot tomorrow.

Re: electrical i think
my mum had 3 micras they never gave any trouble whatsoever, and were economical in spite of being petrol. the reason i like the old ones is they are so brutally basic, its just you and the car, and very little else so driving them is more pure, thats if you drive them enthusiastically.

my motherin law as got a micra a T reg shes had it from new idont think its seen a service in many years and it only fails to start if its been parked on a hill sloping down,
its had a Throttle body problem since the day it was Bought nissan failed to fix ,
Even a Nissan Mech couidnt resolve the problem,
some days you have too pull the fuse for the fuel pump and put it back in Again before itl start
