Saw a thread over on the coupe club, and it enables you to work out your "birthday" of your car

There was a 6 digit code painted in yellow on the strut top, that a bit back I thought may have been the paint code, as there was no other indication as to the paint code on the car.
Turns out it's the build code and the factory it was built at - first 4 numbers relate to date, second 2 to the plant it was built at

The code on my strut is 809887

81 = Poissy France
82 = Villaverde Spain
83 = Ryton UK
85 = Vesoul France
87 = Eiv Poissy France
88 = Mulhouse France
89 = Sochaux France
U5 = Pininfarina Italy
U8 = Sevel Italy
U9 = Sevel nord France
UT = Kolin Czech
CA = Aulnay France
CJ = Rennes France
FV = Vigo Spain
G8 = Creil France
G9 = Gennevilliers France
RE = Rennes France

So using this http://oecc.nexenservices.com/Narizin/tech/orga.php
It turns out my car was made on Monday 11th January 1999 at Eiv Poissy France

Seen that one, but was a tad reluctant to "borrow" a resourse created for the coop boys :D

The one I linked to said mine was built on a sunday, whereas that one says monday, so i'd be more inclined to believe that one.

Mine was registered on 19th February, so only about 5 weeks of potentially sitting in an airfield :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

The paint code should be where the macpherson covers are in the engine bay. It shoud be in the colour of the car, at least mine is there.

Not done anything to the car for a while, mainly due to a lack of funds.

However, I think I've mentioned before, I've had the EML come on very occassionally
I tried with 2 different readers, but would just say 1 fault code, but as we all know, with out the Lexia/PP2000, i'm unable to read the actual codes.

In the cold spell, the EML came on a couple of times, but maybe only for a few miles
Today, was travelling along the local ring road - funnily, the same road where, if the EML is going to come on, that's when it comes on.

Didn't think a great deal about it, as car appears to run fine
travelled about 6 miles to pick my son up from grandparents
coming back, car was steaming up inside despite heater being on,
when it cleared, if I put heater onto any other setting ie feet, the screen would steam up again
could sense a bit of a burning smell - although have recently had trouble with wiring to heater - had trouble approx 12 months ago, but chopped out an arcing out plug and replace with a heavy duty connector block - about 2 weeks ago, heater stopped completely again, my mate stucj=k his head under, and said wires seemed a tad loose in block
he was going to look at it for me, whilst I was at work, but he's been off work and i've not been too well myself so not done the job
I also noticed the cars temp was up to its normal operating temp which is 80 for my car, whereas, maybe I haven't noticed, but in last cold spell, it barely got over 70, and the outside temp at the time was 0

Bit too dark to look at the car when I got back, so can't check the car out, but what's your guys thoughts, as i'm getting a tad paranoid :|
Sensible reply would be just look at the car in the daylight, but my minds going overtime worrying

I think mainly I want to know what sort of temps your cars are running at compared to normal, to judge whether I have a problem or not
Car normally never uses any oil or water

my water temp runs just under 90 winter & summer, oil temp varies from about 100 to 130 depending on how hard it's working.

Couldn't see anything wrong with the car
Needed a smidge of oil, but hardly anything.
No more smell

EML was on when started car, but was back out within a mile and not been back on.

Half tempted to buy a cheap clone reader off ebay for my birthday present, but as the car hardly ever plays up, is it worth it

ha, choices, choices :|

Are you near anyone who has one? Try also on the Coupe Club forums to see if you're near a PP2000 owner.

It might just cost you a pint

Just doing a search on there, and in one thread it mentions the pp2000 won't communicate with remapped ecu's ?
If that's the case, definately not worth buying one, but maybe worth finding someone local who can read it for a drink on off chance

Well, mine defo talks to my remapped ecu - and at least half a dozen others I may have had occasion to examine.

The only remotely similar info I've come across is that Ecusafe is principally sold to tuning / mapping outfits to enable them to stop their handiwork being copied by all and sundry.
