EML light , idea's game :)

Post by puggy »

Ok was travelling along the motorway the other evening 80/90 when
engine light came on . Car slowed rev's dropped to 2500 and would not
go above this for a couple of mins then it picked up again to normal .Light
has stayed on tried all the reset procedures , nothing , the car is now running
really well , only thing i have noticed is it seems to stutter a little when i
go over 5000/5500 revs . So boys and girls all idea's greatly welcome , should
be having it read tomorrow and light turned off then we will see who the
winner is :P :P

Were you anywhere near an airport, puggy?

I reckon after the speed bump incident, your car was trying to bleed off some excess speed in the interests of a softer landing.

driving at 80/90?
otherwise being a hdi a connector being loose, since someones already taken the throttle position sensor, ill go for the MAF, and before anyone else takes it, the boot open sensor.

Sorry this has been a long time coming :P but finally had my brakes done today and codes read.
The only 2 codes in there were P0380 pre-post heating relay short circuit to positive ??? whatever that is.
And 496E whatever that is unless it was something to with his diagnostic .
And also while he was doing the brakes i noticed red dust on the bottom pulley and sure enough
there was play in it . I had the pulley replaced when i bought the car with a pug genuine one only to
be told the one that came off had only been on a short while so i kept it aren't i a lucky boy as it
is now back on the car :) . The new pulley had lasted just about 5 yrs !!!
