Really crap brakes

Post by FarmerPug »

thinking about my brake pad wear light, ive actually looked at the brake disks on my car and they look shite, i put them on in july last year but theres a bit of a ridge around the outside of the disk. The cars barely done 8000 miles, i dont use the brakes harshly or rest my foot on the pedal. Can brake disks really be that terrible?

My discs have done sub 2k and they have a slight ridge. Don't worry about it.

my disc's are less than 1k old and the light is on when ever its damp here.

tell you what the first dry night you have over there when the light is off take the car through a car wash and i'll bet you £20 the light comes back on.

ok well this sounds reassuring ive been pricing a new set of disks and pads, £200 for brembos which although have a reputation for sportiness but i assume they are of a better quality than normal brakes.

try mintex disc's, if you can get trade price parts somwhere i only use mintex brake components on everyday cars,

if you cant get mintex disc's or pads shoot me the reg no of your car and i'll get you a trade price and find out how much to post.

Standard 406 breaks are superb!
Get some braided hoses and a good set of pads (fredero DS2500 are superb).
Should improve it vastley!

yes but not noticable to the eye // when you brake the car kinda bumps .. and when you brake at speed 70+mph the car vibrates but its not got to that stage on mine yet ,
