MOT time today!

Post by Captain Jack »

Well, it's that time of the year again. The car has gone in for its annual health check today. It has been behaving itself lately, so I am hoping there is nothing major-ly wrong with it...... :supafrisk:

Best of luck CJ :D

I did a service and mot on a 307 HDI this morning....really winds me up when people can't even check their lights and wiper blades.....

Failed on headlight, 2 front sidelights, number plate lights and headlamp aim plus left wiper blade completely stripped :frown:

I repaired it on site and got the mot.

Back to the 407..... :frown:

I can't understand why people send their cars in like that :frown: it must wind-up the MOT man a treat.

My car was super-clean when it went it 3 weeks ago and I even took the precaution of changing the less-than-orange indicator bulbs BEFORE going for the MOT

Welp.... it passed

Although Mr. Jasper will be unhappy to learn that it failed originally for a n/s/f side indicator bulb :supafrisk: (I did check...)

Anyway, I do have 2 advisories:

Rear brake pads wearing thin
Rear brake discs worn

:(

Are discs hard to change? Not looking forward to that following mjb's troubles with his rear brakes.

Also, a peculiar line on the invoice:

"Check over for Mot Test. Replace n/s/f side lamp bulb" - £14 + VAT

Hm, strange that they still supplied me with a failure notice.

It's not such a bad job, I've had mine apart so many time it's become second nature!

One indicator bulb could go anytime, but the wiper he must have known about because it smeared the screen completely, the other lights, well there were just too many for an accidental failure :D

My mot guy failed the 307, I fixed the faults outside the garage and got the mot straight away because the car had not been removed from the premises. :cheesy:

The 407? Yes, I have been replacing the DMF and clutch since sunday a bit at a time, finished it now, all is well

My own car btw.
