Nearly done folks, just got o/s driveshaft and lower engine mount to fit, apart from wheel arch liners and gearbox oil.

Gearbox went in a treat, I had it on a trolley jack and wood blocks on a 4 post ramp so no lifting involved, just slid it forward and it popped right in :D

n/s driveshaft and subframe gave me grief.

Should finish it tomorrow afternoon as I have a service and mot on a 307 HDi in the morning.

Thanks trem and everyone else that commented :D

Yes, I intended to do a full how-to for the other site.

When I get logged back into the other site i will do a write up and post the few pictures that I have....my son took some on his iphone but he's away at Volvo in Daventry until friday, they aren't brilliant but i'll see what I can do with them with my photo editing software.....I was going to use my DSLR to take some, but I got too involved with the job and didn't think.

I'm glad I did it now, it's very satisfying to be able to do such a job, I'm happy to be able use my skills again.

Well done jasper - knew you'd win in the end. 8)

Pleased for you, but tell me you didn't take the DPF off and refit it in an unmolested condition. :frown:
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Thanks doggy :D

I didn't have to remove the DPF, it's well out of the way, but strangely the DPF on mine looks exactly the same as yours on the 406.

There's loads of room on the 407 to get to the DPF and where it bolts to the manifold, looks like a doddle to get off.
