Anti-roll bar sizes?

Post by CountryPug »

Guys, now that I've cured all the rattles at the back of my 406...the front is starting to rattle. My guess is that its the anti-roll bar bushes. I logged into Europarts and for the 2.0 HDi they have bushes for 3 different anti-roll bar sizes, I think they were for 22mm,23mm and 24mm anti-roll bars. Which is the right size of bush for my car?

Cheers 8)

I've taken a guess that yours is a HDi 90 saloon?

ServiceBox lists both 23 & 24 mm front a/r bars - so I gues it could have either and no rear a/r bar....

(FWIW, Mine has 24 mm front / 22 mm rear).

Maybe if you check it SB yourself, or post / PM your VIN?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

its not common for the anti roll bar bushes to go ,,

its more than likely gonna be droplinks on the front. i still have a set of anti roll bar bushes
because thats whati thought it was last year and sum1 on here told me that it wont be them cos they dont go really ..

have u changed the droplinks ? on the front of course

Im fairly sure the front drops were changed just over a year ago. My diagnosis is purely going by rattle, I need to get her up on the ramps and have a look round the front end.

Be VERY careful when taking off the nuts, Both bolts broke right off on my drivers side. Luckily one bot broke off near the bottom and I was still able to get the nut back on. The other sheared off near the top and I had to do some tricky welding to get enough bolt back on, I was then able to use 3 washers and got the metal bracket secured back on around the bush.

Nah, I didnt have any trouble getting in to work at it, it is a bit trickier than the passenger side but you shouldnt need to drop the tank.

Nah i meant the physical bar i wouldn't mind a bit less roll in the rear and less understeer. I'm use to my 205 which is running a 24mm arb in the rear, was hoping there was a easy swap out

idont think there will be mate,

ifind my 406 the same , too much roll in the rear it either needs a ton of sand in the boot or some wider wheels me thinks :?
