I`m still here!!

Post by hammerman »

Hi to all, been a while since i last posted so a quick update.
Still got my SE,now nudging 136k miles.Had to replace a front cv joint after only 16 mths :frown: Got 2 replacements off ebay, new, for the price of 1 from ecp.Only fitted the 1 at the mo as i`m going to have to replace my bottom engine mount so will do the other 1 when i do that, although theres nothing wrong with it.
ABS light was on again which i traced to the sensor on the wheel with the gone cv joint.£70  from ecp,so i got one from my scrappy for £10 & abs has been fine ever since.Air bag light came on,fiddled with wires under the front of the seats, now working fine.
Center exhaust went again, after only 18 mths, cant find the reciept for the 2 year guarranty so fixed it for now with a tin can
Rear tyres wearing on outside edge.
The big one.2 weeks before xmas my alternator went while i was working away in Devon, during the snow.Car got snowed in on campsite for over a week. The cheapest new one was £150,the cheapest fix of mine was £120.When the snow had thawed i got the car recovered(full g/flag recovery)to our plant workshop/yard.After 3 days car was ready, alternator reconed with one hrs labour,£80,taken in 3 payments from my wages, result :cheesy: when my clutch needs doing,or anything major,it can go to my firms workshop,as i also get a company van foc while its being done. The labour rate is £30 an hour,& you know they will do a good job :)
Still on the look out for a front bonnet as mine is now slowly disintergtating on the front edge.My local scrappy now has 3 hdi estates,1999-2002,so that has been a good souce of bits n bobs, like the hdi top cover posts & clips.

Good to hear from you again, hammerman.

Last time you posted some pics, there was a little digger or two featured, IIRC

Now, we used to have some real ones hereabouts.....
