rattling/clicking noise from the engine

i getting similar noise now on my 2.ol hdi, most noticable with driver window down, stealer quoted £100 for part prob plus vat, is it easy to do myself or better getting garage to do

Just done my timing belt and aux belt pulley tensioner/belt change today....I had a rattle from near the pulley only at start-up and for 30 seconds afterwards, I thought it was the crank pulley, but it seems fine, i'm a bit stumped now, unless I just change it anyway and see how it goes.

You just need to remove the aux belt and undo the crank pulley bolt to remove it, but the bolt can be very tight.
