German fuel prices

Just back from yesterdays 'jolly' to the Fatherland, (yes, getting up at 04:30 & getting home again at 22:00 is fun).

I noticed the following at a filling station we passed outside Hanover:

Diesel - 3 variaties, costing from 1€39.4 to 1€40.9 a litre.... (so how come diesel costs > petrol here)?
Petrol - 2 variaties, costing from 1€49.9 to 1€54.9 a litre....
LPG - 0€79.9 a litre
Adblue - 0€69.9 a litre (just when you thought the FAP was as bad as it gets)...

Not much else of note, 'cept this is the first longish run the Dogmobile's been on for a while, I'd forgotten what brilliant motorway mile-munchers they really are.

Adblue - 0€69.9 a litre (just when you thought the FAP was as bad as it gets)...

We have that in most of the lorries at work. I asked Transport what it was as they were complaining about drivers putting diesel in the Adblue tanks & f**king them up & thought they were taking the p**s when they said it was pig p**s!

Next thing we'll all be running round with cows**t in the exhausts...

Bejesus, as if the transportation industry wasn't struggling enough they now have to put 'urea' in a separate tank which is then squirted into the exhaust manifold to help the CAT do something

What happens if I run out on the road?
Your vehicle's tank will normally contain up to two weeks supply of AdBlue and, provided the tank is topped up at the depot weekly, drivers will not normally need to fill-up on the road.

Drivers may want to carry a small 10 litre plastic container of AdBlue on the vehicle in case they run-out... enough for about 400 miles of driving.

For trucks registered after October 2007 an on-board-diagnostics vehicle sensor will ensure that genuine AdBlue is present in the special tank. If AdBlue runs-dry, the Engine Management System will progressively and gradually reduce engine power by 50% to a limp-home mode over the space of 100 Km distance.

Yes & no... Stops well, goes well, but rumbles like you wouldn't believe between 58 & 60.

Changing a slightly 'lumpy' tyre at the weekend - failing that it's gotta be a rear wheel bearing, but I couldn't detect anything wrong with either when I was working on it.

wow lpg is expensive over there, i doubt theres much incentive to get an lpg conversion there.
But whats with the price €79.9 per litre, is that really seventy nine euro per litre thats £67 per litre. do you mean 79.9 cents per litre?

Hmm, prices seem to have shot up since I lived in Germany (I left Osnabruck in 2005). I used to pay around 35c a litre, but I was restricted to 200 litres a month at that price
