Sat nav display Help!!!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Sat nav display Help!!!

Post by gtxtank »

Hi guys and girls,

I have finally got round to getting a new multi function display to fit my 2001 gtx estate and need to know if it plugs straight in or do I need it coded to the car?? Also how does removal/ refit work ??
Apologies for sounding a bit dumb on these things but I'm new to the 406 world
Thanks

On either side of the MFD screen, you have a pair of rectangular black plastic panels. Prize them out using a screwdriver (gently, so as to avoid scratching the plastic). Behind them is a pair of screws, which you should also remove.

I think that's about it
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD :(
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.

Thanks guys,
Can't wait for the postman to deliver it so I can finally see something other than what radio station I'm listening to or the last digit of the mpg display !!
Might even attempt some satellite navigation, any idea how you can get a newer disc for this without paying a ridiculous amount to the main dealer??
Cheers

can i ask where did you get your sat nav display from? Do you have the broken one because i hear some oer on the coupe club have a way of fixing their broken lines, involving cat5 wiring and solder.

yup fitment is easy peasy.
ive got email alerts for all new things matching '406 display' and another 6 different varieties of that name.
But how much would you be looking for your broken screen, id buy it off you and see if i could get it going, something to do with cat5 cabling.
