Re: Deposit down on new car.
Its all to do with me not being registered as a foreigner or having applied for my residence, funny that i thought we were all europeans
its amazing how they let me open a company, pay my taxes, my insurance, my local tax to the town i live in, rent me a flat take 23% of everything i spend in VAT followed by another 32% of my income but wont allow me to lease a car unless i apply for polish residency, take a language exam and either buy a house (how when they wont even sell me a car) and register it as my permanent address or register at my mother in-laws which would then invalidate my company registration as that is registered to the flat i rent thus requiring me to close down the company and restart it again from her address............................
well you the idea, im well and truly p1$$ed off with it all, i cant even buy a car for cash as i wont be able to register it to myself as i lack the all important PESEL and residency so then wouldnt be able to claim any of the costs back against tax........... its feeling all a bit catch 22, i feel another jaunt to blighty coming on and screw the legality of it.

Re: Deposit down on new car.
Bloody hell, they've got you tied up in bloody knots with all that sh*t
it goes to prove they really do do things the mega-f*cking-long way round
Chin up though chappy, you'll find a way, I just wish I could advise with some more use
Can't you do something through her indoors? maybe make her a director? lease a car in her name or something and you drive it as an employee?

Re: Deposit down on new car.
Cheers Welly,
they have really got me truly frustrated with it all, having spoke to some natives, this is just the way it is and its a case of "like it or lump it"
as for making the wifely one a director, not possible without changing company type and all that that will lead to, it looks like a cheapy cash car for now 10-15k zloty and start the residency procedure and registration as a dirty foreigner, europeans my arse!
I will get there it will just take longer than expected, apparently im being too English about it all and expecting too much from the system
so one way or another i will have something else within a week or so, Polish plated, what ever it is the wife can have it in the summer when hopefully i will be able to get it all sorted and have a new one.

Too English? Too sane surely
Well I'm not surprised, living over there, marrying one of the natives and setting up a business is obviously just a ploy to steal a Citroen C5 and live the rest of your life in idle luxury. To the Gulag with you!

Re: Deposit down on new car.
Well i bought a dirty little Arsetra estate for now, it will do for the coming 2-3 months it will take to sort out my residency and then its back on track and i will be picking up a new C5, at least this time i will be able to order a brand new one and wait the delivery time without having to worry about my not so legal RHD disco and the local plod.
When i get the new one the wife can have this thing , its 'orrible but its taxed and tested and comes with 6 months of insurance and the steering wheel on the wrong, sorry left hand side
its a 2000 model with about 160k km on the clock and signs of a replaced head at some point, petrol 1.6.
it will do for now

Re: Deposit down on new car.
Sounds like a good plan to get you through the red tape inspired delays.
Other than that stick to the tried / tested formula for a gentleman abroad:
1. Chin up, old chap.
2. Don't let Johnny Foreigner get the better of you.
3. Are you definetly shouting at them loudly enough?
