can anybody tell me how to get to the filter i`ve trield twisting the top of the housing but nothing

the lids are usually bolted to the housing

I think there's two, Bosch and Mahle. On the Bosch one you pull the pipes off and just unscrew the lid. The Mahle has a big ring around the outside which you undo, the top is keyed into the bottom so you won't turn it without destroying it. You might need a strap wrench if it's very tight. My one was the Bosch. I consider myself fairly strong but bloody 'ell it was difficult to get the top off, cant remeber what socket size? Anyway I tried so hard I snapped the top part. Then had the go to Pug dealership and buy a new fuel filter housing at just over £80! If you do buy a new housing one good thing......it comes with the filter already in it and fitting takes all of 2 minutes, but they are £80

That's because each filter assembly was lovingly hand crafted by no less a person that Robert Bosch's grandmother on her deathbed.
