has any1 ever used autoglym products ?

ive just used leather cleaner on my new steering wheel.

then i looked at the back of the tub and it states use leather cleaner 1st then leather care cream ..

but searching ebay there is a care cream and balm /

what is the difference ?

ive used it on the seats mainly and especially with them being cream you could easily see a before, and after the first time i did it, made a huge difference to the seats, ive give it a bit of a rub on the steering wheel and it keeps it clean, but do you really want to buy a big bottle just for the steering wheel. Some son of a gun dash polish will shine up the steering wheel nicely.

also its quite common for them to tell you to use something else, before applying care cream, ensure all surfaces are cleaned using rapid clean (ok im making product names up), you buy the rapid clean and it tells you to dry the surface using the specially designed microfibre cloth. And when you have finished using the care cream buff it all off with the extra long life shine. And probably on the bottle of that it tells you to 'for the same shine on your wheels buy our new new n shine wheels and trims'.
They just want you to buy more of their stuff. Especially in the case of autoglym if you did take it literally buying one would inevitably end up with you purchasing every thing they sell.

i havent used it yet, but it looks good, and smells right.

i was gonna order glipton g11 leather conditioner i think but decided to get autoglym leather care balm.

i've always used autoglym so will stick with them

im going to have to buy gt11 it says so on the box.

'clean all leather thorougly with GT15 or GT12, wipe all residue off. Wipe over the area with a leather degreaser. Sparingly apply the dye. Then conditoin the leather with GT11. Gliptone Leather scented airfreshners are available to enhance the leather smell'.

These compaies turn their instructions into bleeding advertising boards.

But autoglym is a big company with a good reputation, they wouldnt put their name on something if it didnt work.

it cost me £12 ish for 500ml of cleaner and 500ml of balm cream

leather is a bit over rated in terms of its practicality, its not a case of just give it a wipe when it gets dirty, you have to know what to wipe it with because some things make it too hard, or make it discolour. And you do need to give it stuff every now and then to keep it nice and soft or it cracks.

whats the best cloths to use ?

a set of them microfibre ones does the job, i get a pack of 5 for £2, they do most cleaning tasks, and easy cleaned in the machine although at a low temperature or you break the microfibreness of them. Most hardware stores should do them. But also read your products instructions to see what it says to apply it with.

on my autoglym leather cleaner bottole it recommends to use

autoglym perfect polishing cloth

bout £5 for 8 pcs on ebay .. think i will stick to my dish cloth

the autoglym one is probably the same as a microfibre one, but im not sure. The cloth could have been specifically developed so it didnt absorb all the product into itself, thats a problem i found with dish cloths or old rags say you use son of a gun on the dash, so much gets soaked into the cloth. But heck its only the steering wheel, i doubt the dish cloth will eat all your cleaner away. You will still end up with a shinier bit of leather than when you started.

yes your right.

my wheel has had 2 coats of balm . its brilliant stuff what a difference it makes even now a few hours later.
it still looks wet even tho its dry . it is really shiney /

gonna give it a 3rd coat for good measure.

and the best thing with the autoglym is it smells like brand new real leather.

so now its soaked into the wheel it smells like brand new leather
