How often should i change my oil?

ive got a sri turbo with 119k on, i would normally change every 12k miles, but as its an old car does it need to be changed sooner?

6 months or 6000 miles is a good guide to follow, especially to prolong the life of that turbo

yh that was my next question, howcome most turbo cars need a new turbo every 60k miles or so yet the 406 doesnt seem to need one? because such low pressure?

10w/40 is fine, use a semi-syn rather than fully-syn as this stuff can shift deposits that would otherwise stay put.

It's low-pressure, low stress and the engine rev's aren't that high (reducing exhaust gas temps) BUT the 406's turbo does fail if the servicing is not kept up; the oil feed blocks and the turbo seizes.

Increasing the boost will also shorten the life due to the high EGT's.

thats good oil . or castrol or total ...

i always use and always will use Total quartz 7000 because i get it from dealers

I have changed mine (2.0 110) every 6000 since I got it at 78k miles. Just did the change today at 221k. Turbo is original.
