Irritating Squeak

Post by FarmerPug »

Recently the drivers window made a bit of a squeak when going up, i put some 3in1 in the tracks and it cured it. But now i have something more irritating its a squeak on the drivers door it squeaks over the bumps. I took off the door card i thought it was not on right but it was. I think its the seal or window tracks. How can stop the rubber seals from squeaking like this.

Don't worry about it Farmer, another squeak will be along in a couple of days to re-focus your attention :)

You could try using Auto-Glym Bumper Care Gel on the seals or and other silicone based Vinyl/Rubber dressing to see if it stops this.

I get squeaks from the door cards on the Coupe too. Two things cure it:

1) turn the radio up

or

2) make the engine noisier by using the volume pedal

its squeking and i have the doorcard off also ripped out the shitty sealing skin as its a bit past it and still there.
What annoys me most is it wasnt there before, thats why im determined to get rid of it, and the tom jones cd is in the car right now and i can still hear it.

when i was re-trimming my door cards i noticed the clips wasnt holding the card back on the door properly
so i bought a pack of 20 clips from dealers - bout 3 quids.
wot a difference.the door card stuck solid to the door.

maybe worth a try FP
