This is the first remapped 406 I've seen for sale, so curiuos to see how the seller gets on.
(Not too much danger of being trampled in the rush, methinks)

Re: Hdi 150 anyone?
Would that have started off life as an HDi 110?
Also, I guess the cambelt is about due; it's been around 60,000 miles since the last one (which was changed late, at 90k)

Re: Hdi 150 anyone?
iwouidnt think that wouid kick out 150 bhp,
mines been tweeked and iwas told 150 bhp is a Guess figure, and shouid only expect a max of 133 bhp from the standard 110bhp,
ive got confirmation and receipts of mine being done but theres no way its kicking out 150bhp altho its rapid enough for a derv,

Re: Hdi 150 anyone?
i thought a remap adds about 30 bhp ?
hence plods is a 140 ??
my mate always looks ats remaps (not a 406) but most add about 30 bhp
so 150 in this add is probably over exaduration (if thats spelt right)

Re: Hdi 150 anyone?
136 is what most remappists do to a car, so unless hes done work elsewhere in the form of mechanical improvements i doubt the 150bhp figure very much. 150 just doesnt sound safe for a car that was 110bhp originally can the components really take 40 more stallions.
Re: Hdi 150 anyone?
ive been told theyl handle 150bhp with no problems, butFarmerPug wrote:136 is what most remappists do to a car, so unless hes done work elsewhere in the form of mechanical improvements i doubt the 150bhp figure very much. 150 just doesnt sound safe for a car that was 110bhp originally can the components really take 40 more stallions.
the only problems ican find that ive heard of is wether its true or not idont know

ive heard the only way to stop it when it does this is too stall the engine, as it wont stop on the key,
sounds pretty scarey to me ithink iwill be looking into getting mine put back to standard Bhp if this is the case ,
as of Getting a full 150bhp outa the 110 wouid involve clearing out the cat & and egr blanking me thinks

Re: Hdi 150 anyone?
oh runaway diesels, was quite common on high mile old turbo diesels, and the isuzu trooper had a bit of a reputation for it on either the 3.0 or 3.1 should know because one was a terrible engine, the other was great.
150bhp would need a strut brace at least, and perhaps uprated brakes, and a better clutch most definitely a solid flywheel.

but for me the extra bhp ionly use it /find it usefull for hill climbs,
ihate cars that you have to fire up an hill in 3rd gear ,

Re: Hdi 150 anyone?
i wouldnt mind a bit more grunt for hills, but 150 is excessive.
Re: Hdi 150 anyone?
Mines kicking out a good 130 which ifind good,FarmerPug wrote:i wouldnt mind a bit more grunt for hills, but 150 is excessive.
only problem ive learnt with that from the previous owner of the car a mate of mine is that,
it eats engine mounts,
he started off with a cheap Mod of ebay which fools the ecu which was shite it added about an extra 5bhp -its still on the car disconected as a guess its a 10pence resistor in a fancy plastic box,
the Remap he said he paid £150 to havedone only reason he had it done was for abit of towing power as the car was used too tow a Mobile Butty van .
But it came with 2 bald front tyres when itook it off his hands so iguess he had a bit of fun in it,

Tbh iwouidnt have had it done ive driven a few 406 hdis (110s) and there powerfull enough as they are
