They haven't, but recent events have led me to dreaming this senario and I wondered what you would do in a situation like this (for a bit of fun if you like).

I would have 2 thoughts on mine:
  • Upgrade to a newer car like 'Black Beauty' HDi S (53 plate) the other day on here

Or, fix clutch & flywheel, fix zorst, a Full Monty service of everything, and then some Alloys from the newer model (16'' multispokes) and finally a Boost Re Map.
I think that would be just fine :cheesy:

What would you do????

I'm happy with me car, apart from 100mph problem, so I'd fix that, ECU Remap, Lowered 40mm, SS Exhaust, Decat, Body Kit, Spoiler, New Stereo with TV etc. If enough cash find a 2.7 v6 HDi and swap engines.

I'd buy a ported and polished cylinder head with larger inlet and exhaust valves... I'd thrown in a large FM intercooler and oversized alloy radiator.... and maybe if enough left over a set of coilovers :D

Or I'd add £2k myself and buy an engine conversion ! :)

I'd replace my bonnet and seats (cracked leather not too nice), get the copious scratches/dents removed (I think the previous owner must have driven it purely in a supermarket car park!) then I'd take it for a bloody good wash! :)

Hmmm... fix the whining noise/coolant leak/smoke problem, get some alloy wheels, new exhaust and a respray to cosmic black (the colour of the coupe 2.2 hdi I was looking at buying).

:)

Some good replies there,

There is allways something you need or want for your car isn't there ?

I regret selling the Honda Integra because although it seemed to be not worth it at the time I could have spent £1800.00 on it and it would have been spot on, not modifications but mechanical and bodywork issues, it would have been cheaper to do that than change cars twice since then :(

Seems you only go so far with your car and end up bailing out and replacing it and start over again with a new 'wish list' hehe......

Its for that reason the next owner of my car will be the scrapman. I don;t trust any of the gimps around here to treat her well enough to deserve driving her.

I'd use the 2k to pay for my insurance for the year (sad innit) Dam I must really love that car... costs me more than college fees :|

but other than that id av some serious bodywork done (de-handling, de-badgeing, bodykit) something to make it different from your usual '06 :D

I was going to do that and bail on the 6' but decided against it... I will have a supra or skyline or maybe both in about 5 years time, but for now you got to watch this space.... 300hp 406 is on the way ! hopefully within 6 - 8 months ! Street sleeper am I ! ! ! lol

Now I'm no longer a student and earning some money, its time to sort the 6' out before buying a house ! who needs a sofa and front room furnature I can sit in the 6' on my drive and watch TV through the window ! lol

youd bee lucky for 2k :)
gti6 cams dont suit turbo application they have too much overlap so you will get boost leak your better off with s16, i have talken my car off the road to do this conversion anyway, and i already have the ecu, i am looking at around £2k to get it done well.

you will need a decent cometic hg, thats £80 straight off,
a decent head is about £200
a new t28 is circa £500
coupe brakes £250
exhaust manifold to suit above £600
downpipe from turbo to cat £200

emerald ecu fiting + mapping you wont have change from £1k

yes dp engneering are very expensive i am currentlyin discussion with another company called "xs-power" they manufacture exhausts/turbo manifolds for a much more reasonable price (£120 for turbo manifold for an mx5, £140 for a civic) i got my new fmic from them for £87 and its a quality item.

i am getting a friend to lend me his Turbo technics manifold so i can measure it and get some cad drawings done, then send them the dimensions, this will mean you can run a t28 on the 8valve head and have a decent manifold. I am trying to get someone to lend me a t16 manifold so i can get that measured and drawn up so i can get them to manufacture a 16v one aswell i would guess there manifolds would be less than £300 but nearer £200
take a peak here

http://www.xs-power.co.uk/shop/

for example

a exhaust manifold for a honda b16/18 (civic/integra vtec)

http://www.xs-power.co.uk/shop/product_ ... ucts_id=91 =£160

http://www.dp-engineering.nl/EN/product ... amhorn.php = 749 euros/ £504

they even do an equal length manifold the same as the dp one for half the price of the dp

http://www.xs-power.co.uk/shop/product_ ... ucts_id=88 =£249
im sure the dp manifold is manufactured to a better standard but i doubt £340 better
