1) Kill it with fire
2) Replace it with a Coupe

Yes, the insurance will be higher, but will the insurance be higher than your parts-cost on the Focus?

And, you'll have a 406 again, which I know you've been thinking about.

Hah, yes. Mine has been doing that, but it'll be the throttle body needing cleaned, or something.

Still, when she's not bitching about that, it's a great car to drive, and people do literally stop and look as it goes past 8)

Thats, what, a £15 part? Bernard's a tough old thing, it seems.

I'm getting worried about my car, the garage called me and said they're still working on it, and I might not get it back til tomorrow (fingers crossed it's not expensive!)

Maybe the CAT is past its best? or the injectors need cleaning? (I didn't know until the Volvo forum told me but injector cleaning is essential on petrols and should be done every 30K :o ) everyone on there reports amazing results from the cleaning.

Might be worth checking out but whilst your car's in dock you're at the mercy of the garage, it wouldn't be something like an air leak would it? affecting the mixture?

Well I run it on Tesco Momentum99 which should be keeping everything clean.
Just been talking to Charlie from ProSpeed who fitted the a new CAT two years ago who basically said because we never had the Lambda done the overfueling has trashed a new CAT.
Basically the engine management light came on about erm... 4 years ago and Mum ignored it. It was the Lambda which eventually killed the CAT. So rather than replace the Lambda and the CAT they just replaced the CAT... so now the knackered lambda has killed the new CAT.
Thats my theory anyway, find out when we have a new CAT fitted :|

Fat fuckin' chance.

Coupe-less for tonight (picking her up tomorrow), and will be seriously out of pocket AGAIN.

MOT failed due to excessively corroded brake lines (to the rear brakes), a damaged "suspension item" (I think he said it was the track-rod end, or something; will find out tomorrow), and a missing pin from one of the rear brake calipers.

£40-ish for the MOT
£150-ish for getting the repairs required to pass the MOT done
£150-ish for the full annual service

Feckin' cars.

I'm going to keep the Focus for another 12 month and get a 406 or a MK3 Mondeo.
I'm going to get Bernard through the MOT for sub £30 too :x
