hahaha even though im pissed off that was a good observation!!!hehe
ok-just got my car back & it seems the high pressure fuel pumps' on its way out!!!if my fuel filter etc are all bosch, will my HP Pump be a bosch as well likely?
if so i think i need a 1920NC replacement.thats the number i was qouted from barnetts(peugeot) dundee for the bosch type
trying to get a replacement thats not new/recon is a bitch-any ideas guys?
There's a few on ebay. It seems like they're going from the Bosch serial number on there so best to search with yours to make sure you get the right pump - it's the number on the data plate on the pump that starts 0445 010 XXX
so do i
this is turning into a nightmare. i just put another fuelfilter into it as the mechanic f*cked up the o ring in old one.diesel everywhere.but....#
just noticed that when im trying to start it,there's a clicking, sound comin from somewhere & i had smoke coming from near a wire underneath the filter housing. cant start it at all now.its sad cos before the said mechanic took out the tank she ran great!
I'm not convinced that the problem is with the injector pump, I find it odd that the only part of the fuel system that was disturbed is the pick up and return pipes at the tank, so how would that cause the pump to fail? Must be a restriction in the pickup or serious air ingress. Hope you get it sorted soon.
when the so called mechanic put the tank back in he might of just used the starter motor turnning the engine over to try and get the fuel up to the pump and injectors without bleeding it, this could do damage to the pump
thanks craig-no honestly,i thought he did that as well. bunch o lazy bastards,im so angry now cos the cars at the door & cant get anything done.
supposed to have a guy coming up tomorrow, but dont trust anybody now. does the timing belt etc have to come off for replacing the pump?if so,then does that mean the pulleys have to be secured etc.?seen him do a passat 1.6s HG once & he said that the pulleys didnt have to be secured.doubted him
ta dah!!
Well I'm just back with the car from the garage today & all sorted now. Albeit £450 lighter!!!
Needed a new injector pump=£270 plus vat (£324),plus £126 to fit it!!!!
I was a bit pissed off about the amount, til I phoned peugeot tofind out how much they'd be_-Hahaha-£714!!!just for the f'kin pump!
So just wanted to say a big thanks to you all for your advice-especially you craig.appreciate it
