Ever since I bought the car the drivers side windows has struggled to close. It drops fine, but I struggle to get the motor to reverse, requires multiple presses until to closes. This eBay seems to suggest the issues is a common one, I am however skeptical of it.

Does it sound like the switch is broken? If so, is there any chance I could simply re-route the wiring for the passenger window (to the left on the panel) to the driver? I have no problem opening with the passenger switch and only opening the passenger locally at the passenger door.
Any help would be amazing.

Re: Driver side window struggles to open
Hi mate,
if its going down by pressing the switch iwoudnt condem the switch,
if its just going up and down slowly it me be more than likely a tight runner or guide try spraying the runners and everything with some silicone spray or run some Fairy liquid down the rubbers and see if it frees up any,
Also if you think it couid be a switch related problem check the wires in the door loom 1st ive seen the wires chaff and break in them in the past on some peugeots causing issues simialar to what you describe Re the passenger one,

Cheers mate.
It goes down at the normal pace. If you attempt to open it a little (may a few cm's) the windows opens as it should. Then attempting to close it again will make the window fully open, the reverse of what should actually happy! Thats what draws me towards the switch. But I'm a total novice.

Re: Driver side window struggles to close
Hi,
You originally said it goes down fine but only comes up with multiple switch operations. I had this very problem after doing a BSI reset. However refuseing to close until fully opened is a new one, buthave you done anything to the car recently?

It may only be 12V but it's the amphere that kills you!

Cheers for the support guys. Sorted it this afternoon, it was the switch, replaced for £7.50 from the scrapper (instead for the £140 from the dealer)!
