Cream leather?

Post by Captain Jack »

Hi,

As you all know, I have an executive saloon with black leather. I have an opportunity to buy some cream leather seats to replace the black ones? Is it worth it or would you rather stick with black?

If you replace your black seats with cream ones you'll end up annoyed about the mismatch between the seats, dash & carpets & either change all that aswell which will cost a fair chunk & take a fair amount of time or you'll just end up putting the black back in again.

On top of all that, the cream interior will be so much harder to keep clean too. If your black interior is starting to get a bit worn or tatty, it'd probably be easier to wait for another black set to turn up.

I'm not sure I could live with a Hugh Hefner interior these days :|

The cream is nicer to look at if its clean, but if you have children or anyone untidy who gets into the car its a nightmare.
You need cream door cards, headlining, carpert, c pillar, b pillar, and a pillar surrounds, and parcel shelf with cream speaker grilles.
Its nice looking especially at night the way the lights shine on it, thats why i wanted a cream interior, but not practical unless you take care of it.

hold on the final nail in the coffin

cream seatbelts aswell, and they are a proper pain to keep clean.

Spot on Dai - it's either the creme de la creme. 8) or it isn't . :(

Seriously though, I have a cream interior and wonder if black looks better - grass is always greener, I suppose.

My new (well.. 2nd hand) Honda comes with a cream leather interior. It is quite nice after being used to the dark 406 interior, but it does need a good going over with the leather cleaner and febreeze :)

Aye sorry I've been busy.

Sold the pug last week. The top engine mounts were repaired but the lurching on slight acceleration was still occuring, the lower engine mount obviously needed done. Garage just did that "iiittthhhh" sucking through teeth at the price sound that they are trained to do.
I gave it a good polish for the first time after winter (I had occasionally hosed it down at the car wash) and noticed that the rust on the passenger doors was back with a vengeance, worse than before.
I tried to get a near rear door (the worst affected) but it ended up a disaster.
I kinda lost heart I'm afraid.
I also was tempted by an autobox (as I think the discussion on another thread went).

Looked at a C5 2.2 HDi auto, but all sorts of error messages (2 tyre pressure sensors missing / ESR disabled / suspension icon in the middle screen kept saying STOP) and the seller wouldnt budge on his price which he had *upped* because he put a new headlight on it, so gave up on that.
Decided against the XM I had looked at too because it was a bit too old, albeit in mint condition.

Found a Honda Accord Coupe 2.0 auto (nice and thirsty for the upcoming £2 a litre price shock) :)

I hope to hang about and share the banter, albeit I wont have pug issues to complain about, just Honda issues.
