I have a new car!!

Post by Captain Jack »

OK, not really, but made you look :supafrisk:

Still, after months of neglect, I decided to give it a wash - actually, get someone else to wash it for me, 'cos it's freaking cold outside. Here's the result - finished off with diamond polish wax thing; hence the shininess:

As it was at the wash place:

Very nice & you're a lucky man having a wife that'll help clean the car - I'm lucky if mine helps to clean the house!

Couple of points though; did you fit the chrome panel on the front bumper yourself? How is it fixed on?

Also, the close up of where the 406 badge is does highlight a serious flaw with manufacturer badging - doesn't the paintwork look dull inside the lettering when the cars are cleaned up? Thing is though, if you try to polish it, you end up with white bits everywhere as it's a bugger to buff off & even if you do manage it you get dull bits around the edges. Think I'm starting to understand the logic of debadging cars - I've only got rid of the LX badges from the side of mine, but I'm sorely tempted to remove the rest next time I'm giving the old girl a good scrubbing.

She just tagged along - didn't clean it (neither did I).

It already came with the car as standard - in fact, I have made very few modifications to the looks of the car other than the radio. It's called a "Welton Panel" - it's been covered here before. I think you need to drill a hole and then use a combination of glue and screws.
