Ah, never mind. As I said earlier, if it had worked you would've opened a huge can of worms as it'd bug you everytime you spotted an orange light on one of the switches.

I found this linked off of passion406 - http://www.bluecars.net/index.php?cPath=21_101 Hmm, their English is still gibberish, hold on... http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_ur ... =Translate
There's some interesting stuff on there but as you say, as fiddley as hell - they even sell a dummy circuit board to practice on...
I'll see if I can find any pics of someone doing it on the site..
Edit: can't find a thing, I even tried on their coupé club

Re: Mfd colour change, (carnt be done!!)
the blue stuff actually looks quite nice. But as much as i enjoy a bit of soldering if i fecked it up somewhere i dont want the bill to fix anything up.

Re: Mfd colour change, (carnt be done!!)
its all doable
but,
you need plenty of smds white ones,
and a spare heater control screen thingy just incase out goes wrong!
the climate control screen can be moved back on its legs..but its awkward all you need is Blue insulation tape to cover the back of the screen, but it glows dark green because of the orange smds,
if ihad paitience id have another bash at removing the orange smds,
igave up quick as my fingers are sore from doing other awkward jobs on the car ,
the mfd screen colour can be changed by just taking the front off the unit it all doesnt have to come apart,

iirc,FarmerPug wrote:also how do you slot the ciggy lighter socket into place, i can never get them things in.
you seperate the plastic part and put that part in first
then push in the metal part,
there shouid be points on side of them what you press in
Re: Mfd colour change, (carnt be done!!)
Right, changing the colour of the clocks and everything can be done. ive eventually finished changing mine to blue. Thats the lighter socket, mfd, heater display, window switches front and rear and the speedo.
The mfd and the speedo is the little smd's which need to be soldered on
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
The mfd is the normal twist in bulbs
The window switches are these led's which also need to be soldered in
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :MEBDIX:IT
I will get my pics up of them blue tomorrow and a more detailed explanation of how i did it as im off to work sortly and have the day off tommorow to upload pics nd stuff
