You and everyone else bud

That's all going to be passed on to everything else too but at least the oil companies and the government will get their massive cut of it, that's the main thing, who cares if the economy collapses?

But Gary dont you think veg oil will go up too? its no surprise that in a country where you can use it as fuel its over a quid a litre, but here where you are not allowed such tricks its less than 50p a litre

It's only a few years ago (before the veg oil revolution  ) when my mates were running veg in their off-roaders that they were buying tesco value veg oil in 3 litre bottles for 99p. Supply and demand :x

It's the speculators that push these prices up, from what I've heard (but don't know for certain) we in the UK only depend on Libya for 2% of our oil supply  How can losing 2% of our supply nearly double our costs at the pumps, it's A1 Bullsh*t

What if, as a nation we all decided not to go to work if fuel prices hit this ridiculous price, just shut the place down, all the ports and airports, businesses everything. It would cause anarchy I know, but I think that's what these politicians and business boys need to see. They do what they want and we basically roll over and let them get away with it. What's the chances that these speculators and oil experts have shares in companies like BP... :x

No NHS? Nah mate, other countries have their own versions (some of which are actually better). It's only 3rd world countries like Zimbabwe and the USA that don't.

well over the past 6 months veg oil at wholesalers has stayed almost the same only rising a few pence .

i mean rising a few pence for the full 20 litres, not a few pence per litre.

its gone from £20.20p to £20.30p over 6 months

so i cant see it rising huge amounts over the next 6 months.

but knowing my luck it will be £30.20p next time i go

only time will tell

You know what, last Saturday I sloshed-in £55.00 of shell V-Power at £6.19 per gallon and drove a pathetic 218 miles before it was all gone again  so this morning in-sloshes another £35.00 to keep me getting to work at 22miles per day this week. So that's £90.00 gone  I know my car does 25mpg and I accept that but it's the COST per gallon that's making things really bad.

I may have to start thinking seriously about getting something economical but who's going to want my petrol guzzler now? :(

LPG is a good idea but you would really need to do sum serious amount of miles to make the money back for the conversion cos there not cheap .

and with LPG rising crazy like petrol it will take a lot longer..

i past a shell garage other day on my trip for the leathers.

and saw LPG 77.9 litre  it was only 32.9 8 years ago ..

thats one of the reasons diesel cars have creeped back up in value. i've been watching 406 diesel over the past 2 years and they have creeped back up rather than drop down.

not much but its better than dropping.

another example . my mate like vextra vxr's and the price of them things has dropped like sh*t of a shovel over the past 2 years . because of the silly petrol engine fitted no1 wants to buy them

I can't really convert mine to LPG it'd ruin it - the cylinder head will be knackered in no time and I 'only' do about 9000 miles a year.

I suppose a fast petrol car will be bought by someone who's enthusiastic about cars but doesn't have to travel far to work so doesn't really mind the fuel cost.

I really notice how everyone is pootling about now at the weekends, 55 mph is the norm on dual carriageways and the like.

I was thinking at the weekend and remembered the cars I had in the 1990's, all petrol, and no-one ever ever thought about the MPG they were getting! petrol was cheap it just really wasn't an issue unlike today :frown:

I've just frigged-up a quick calculation comparing my 25mpg to a diesel at, say, 37 mpg over the same kinda journeys (s'what my 406 used to return) and I'd save £12.00 per week like that - hardly earth-shattering at the moment especially if I acquired a used common-railer about to spit the dummy out in spectacular fashion
