That has crossed my mind to be honest, the mrs is moaning more than me with the whole 'what are we supposed to do without a car' and 'ive let the family down' speeches etc etc yada yada

I must admit it will be a bit of a pain to get the kids to and from school and we'l have to do online food shopping and walk a bit, no big deal once ive thought about it a little

Might even get a mountain bike and trim up a bit and get rid of this gut that developed after christmas

One thing i remember before i could drive my car was that money could buy things. I used to own the old cars just for rallying round the fields, but without the cost of fuel tax or insurance there was money to spend.
Cars are costly, but i like my car its a good one its worth it.
I heard on the radio george osbourne was thinking of dropping the fuel duty, that wouldnt be a bad thing.

I heard its just that he is thinking of not putting the extra penny on.

Doubt it matters, it seems to go up at least a penny every day.

I do believe if you already had 9 points, he should not have issued you with a fixed penatly notice. If an FPN would put you to 12 points then he should process you to court because 12 points is generally a ban. I suppose it gets picked up when DVLA go to add the points anyway.

The date of conviction on you licence isn't the date you were speeding, it's the date they add the points. So another idea is to stall... request photo of you driving, and whatever else you can until your first 3 points are over 3 years old. Of course this may not help if they just summons you to court, but worth a try.

Are you sure? I seem to recall reading that it's the offence day that counts, not the day that points get added.

The officer asked me how many points I have on my licence, which technically currently is 6 at the mo, ive surrendered my licence at the police station today and have returned the letter admitting it was me that was driving on the 16th when I was caught doing 68 in a 50

Just waiting to see what happens now :(
