The air recirc thing

Post by FarmerPug »

Now i have a chance to get one on the breaking car, i want to get the box of cogs that does the air recirc job to see whats inside and if i can get an friend who owns a lathe and other such precision instruments to see if we can make a decent replacement.
Anyhow where is this box, i have the centre console out, glove box out fan out. Just a bit confused about what to look for.
Its on a year 2000 car.

no cogs on the floor dont worry
then ill need to ask my cousin can he make them out of brass, or is there websites that make cogs?
This breaking a car things a great job, apart from getting the parts, i think its good to learn how a 406 is built, ive taken off the wings, and front bumper for example, id have been too scared to do it on my good car, but now im fairly confident i could change a wing. The stupidest thing i can see that peugeot has done in the construction of the 406 was them sealing sheets. Other than that its quite a fine car to work on.

toy cars with good honest cogs, perhaps old dinky cars from the 60's but i doubt any of the rubbish they make these days would have metal cogs in them. I suppose eventually taking different old things apart alarm clocks, old mechano sets, or an old tape player.
I also got a similar part i believe it changes the direction of air flow, its a bit closer to the middle, and says valeo
