Post by generalbaxter »

testing the water really

2001 406 4 door saloon in gold
Executive, top of the range,

156k miles (was a fleet car)
just had a new clutch and soild fly wheel conversion) £450+
had the heater motor fix so heater works
Long tax (only £!25 for a year)
mot 3 months i think
body work in ok condition no major dents paint work has slight stone chips
std 15" alloys,

110bhp engine, pulls very well no nocks or bangs
new clutch and fly wheel
new rear pads, (caliper stuck on one side, now freed off and pads replaced)
tow bar with twin electrics
cream heated leather seats
black dash (with oil temp)
electric windows all round
electric sun roof
electirc folding heated mirrors
auto dip rear view
rear blind
electric front seats
multi function computer
built in sat nav
climate control
cruse control

everything works as it should

right now the badish bits
id say the mot is a little short
tyres are looking low but all legal,
theres a wheel wobble around the 70mph mark, theres a missing weight on the n/s/f
the multi display has dropped some crystals still readable,
bodywork has stone chips
the multi changer in the boot is missing the cartridge
bolster ware on drivers seat (not ripped)

i have been on 375mile contant no stop trips in this car, runs like a dream, uses no water or oil, just done a 140mile round trip on less then £4 worth of diesel

Part Exchange: anything try me
£1400 o.n.o (if this to much tell me as i dont know how much it is really worth)

Must have been freewheeling down Mount Everest............. or did the last 90 miles on the back of an AA transporter :) .

These are pretty good on diesel, but 140mpg is exceedingly unlikely.

should go back to school

the 375mile trip was 55mpg - sitting on the m25 going nowhere

he 140mile trip works out to be 84mpg as it used £10 worth of diesel at £1.31
as it used 1/2 of the £20 i put in, getting all confused sorry lol
(please note it really would have been quicker to walk)

but then again i got 77mpg out of a cavalier TD 21psi cav towing around 1ton
